It certainly seems positive that Windsor Assembly Plant is cranking back up and producing minivans again. The 8 week shutdown due to bankruptcy proceedings in the U.S. took us all by surprise and caused a great deal of anxiety and fear in our members, their families and our community. That is now part of the history of Chrysler, and the history of this Company has been a real roller-coaster ride.

Our employer finds itself with another chance – another chance to be a successful vehicle manufacturer in an extremely depressed market. We are now redefining the phrase “business as usual” with a brand new definition of “usual.” Convincing the general public to buy cars, and building confidence in our vehicles will be a tough job going forward, but it is far better than the alternative. Today, Chrysler has a future, and we have a stake in that – and that’s the best news we’ve had in a long time.

In Solidarity,
Gary Taylor
